Privacy policy
Last updated October 26, 2026.
[LEGAL NAME, e.g. 1234567 Alberta Ltd.], operating as Calgary Hail Roof Repair ("we", "us"), respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and our business, why we collect it, and your rights under Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) where it applies, and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
What we collect
- Information you give us in our forms or by phone: name, phone number, email, property address, postal code, whether you have an insurance claim, storm date, descriptions of damage, and any photos you upload.
- Information created during our work: inspection photos and notes, measurements, estimates, contracts, insurance claim and adjuster details you share with us, and invoices.
- Technical and attribution information: the page you submitted from, the page you first landed on, the referring website, campaign tags in the link you followed (such as UTM parameters or a Google click ID), your IP address, and browser details used for spam protection.
- Analytics: if analytics are enabled, Google Analytics collects information about how visitors use the site through cookies or similar technologies.
Why we collect it
- to respond to your request, book and carry out inspections, and provide quotes and roofing services
- to prepare documentation you can share with your insurer and, with your permission, to communicate with your adjuster
- to send you texts and emails about your request and your job (see "Consent" below)
- to protect our forms from spam and abuse
- to understand which pages and advertising bring in enquiries, so we can improve the site
- to meet legal, tax, warranty and record-keeping obligations
We only collect what we reasonably need for these purposes. We do not sell your personal information.
Consent
By submitting a form you consent to us using your information to respond to your request and to contact you by phone, text message and email about it. Storm alerts and other promotional messages are sent only if you tick the separate box agreeing to receive them. Every commercial electronic message we send identifies us and includes a way to unsubscribe; you can also reply STOP to any text. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us, subject to legal or contractual limits.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only as needed to provide our services:
- Your insurer and adjuster, only with your permission, when you ask us to support a claim.
- Service providers who process information on our behalf under contract, including: website hosting (Vercel), email delivery (Resend), text messaging (Twilio), spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile), analytics and tag management (Google), and our customer management system ([CRM NAME]).
- Suppliers and subcontractors who need your address to deliver materials or complete work.
- Others when required by law.
Storage outside Canada. Some of these service providers store or process information in the United States or other countries. Your information may then be subject to the laws of those countries, including lawful access by authorities there. You can contact our privacy officer with questions about how our service providers outside Canada handle personal information.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry information for up to [24 months] if you don't become a customer. For customers, we keep job records, photos and contracts for as long as your warranty is in effect plus [7] years, or as required by law. Then we securely delete or anonymize them.
How we protect it
We use reasonable safeguards: encrypted connections (HTTPS), access limited to staff who need it, reputable service providers, and secure deletion when information is no longer needed.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses session storage to remember how you arrived (for example, an advertising link) so we can credit the right campaign when you submit a form. If enabled, Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager set cookies to measure site use. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work.
Your rights
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask how it has been used and disclosed. Send your request to our privacy officer below. We will respond within the time required by law, normally 45 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
